Obaa Akua Konadu
Policy and Advocacy Manager
Obaa Akua leads the planning and implementation of YES-Ghana’s priorities for youth policy, practice, research and advocacy as part of the organisation’s broader policy and advocacy strategy. She plays a critical role in the organisation’s engagements and leadership on the Sustainable Development Goals at national, regional and global levels. In line with this responsibility, she is the project lead on the Sustainable Development Goals Youth Action Campaign. This campaign aims at providing opportunities for youth leadership and active participation in the national effort towards achieving the SDGs.
Obaa Akua brings to YES-Ghana her experience from working with academic and research institutions and international development organisations both locally and internationally. Prior to joining YES-Ghana, she worked as a Project Coordinator at the African Center for Economic Transformation. Her previous engagements span project management, monitoring and evaluation and undertaking qualitative research.
Obaa Akua holds MSc Development Administration and Planning from the University College London, UK. Prior to this, she obtained BSc in Development Planning from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, as well as an Advanced Diploma in Project Management from the Institute of Commercial Management, UK.
Eric J. Saforo
Training and Capacity Building Manager
Eric is the Training and Capacity Building Manager at YES Ghana. Eric will provide quality assurance to training and capacity building activities to all projects. He will manage the Youth Leadership for Social Change project. The Project aims to expand opportunities for youth leadership and active citizenship towards a more inclusive society. Eric will also consolidate, rebrand and deliver tailor made trainings to institutions and organizations that require the services of YES Ghana.
Eric has over 12 years of experience in training and development. He is very passionate about youth empowerment and has worked with the youth both in Ghana and in Malawi. Prior to Joining YES Ghana, Eric was the Country Director at D-tree International in Malawi an organization that develops and supports electronic clinical protocols (mobile apps) to enable health workers worldwide to deliver quality healthcare. He was also Country Director at Theatre for a Change in Malawi an organization that uses innovate and participatory approaches to engage marginalized and vulnerable groups and promote social change.
