The Synergos Institute was established in 2007 by YES and received funding through the Canadian Education and Training Awards for Africa (CETAA). Within two years of operation, the Institute became Ghana’s foremost centre of excellence in youth leadership development and empowerment.
The focus of the Institute is on innovative and effective education approaches to building leadership and strengthening organizational capacity. Our unique asset-based approach to community-driven development recognises that each community and individual has strengths and assets – human, social, financial, natural and physical – they can mobilise and build on to become “Masters of Their Own Destiny.” Synergos also works on the ground with partners throughout Ghana and internationally. Together we are identifying, building and sharing knowledge on effective development practice.
Today, Synergos’ network of over 500 alumni and numerous partners is reaching out to millions of men, women and children in local communities throughout the country. Their dedication and commitment are making a difference.
